Curtis McNeal will start!!!
Curtis "Moody" McNeal will start for the trojans this friday against new comers of the pac 12 Colorado (1-7) on the year. Lane Kiffin announced he will be starting no matter if fellow teammate Marcus Tyler is healthy. The red shirt junior out of Venice high school has made the most of his opportunities this year coming in as the back up this year to either DJ morgan or Marcus Tyler. McNeal made his impact in the third game of the season, he was on special teams and made a hustle play on the kickoff to tackle Syracuse runner on the 10 yard line. Coach lane kiffin saw this and with the trojans leading 31 to 17 he mixed McNeal in the running game and made it exciting. Averaging 15.8 a carry and with a long of 43 weaving in and out of defenders until being brought down on the 4 yard line almost scoring on the tremendous run. Since then he has become the trojans leading rusher and and a "home run threat" in the run game.
McNeal who was red shirted his freshmen year and was academically ineligible his sophomore year has waited for his opportunity. He Runs with a purpose and a desire to do good, to win and help his team. The 5-8 180 pound McNeal runs with passion and desire and what he lacks in size he makes up for with speed, quickness, explosiveness and heart. McNeal seems to always find the wholes and has tremendous balance to stay on his feet. A similar running back to Ray Rice and Maurice Jones Drew who have earned their respect in the NFL league and have become stars to the fans. McNeal has also become a fan favorite and someone to watch for on the trojans offense.
